Ginger Jar canapés range from a fully bespoke service where we design a menu for you, to choosing from our ‘build on site’ or ‘drop off’ lists. Add elements of our bowl & street food for a more substantial feed!
Our build on site canapé & bowl food menu offers a selection of hot & cold food, which is prepped off site then freshly assembled, cooked or heated on site. This allows for a high level of presentation and requires that our chefs have access to a kitchen or the space for us to construct a temporary kitchen.

Our drop off canapés menu offers a range of cold canapés, some of which can be reheated if required, delivered fully built and ready to eat to your door. This collection is great for events where there is no kitchen space available, or for those on a tighter budget.

How the menus work
Cooking on site. Choosing our build on site canapés or bowl foods menu will mean one (or more!) of our chefs will need to work out of your kitchen, or a make shift kitchen, during the event, as most of the food is cooked to order. Also ask for our advice in menu selection if you don’t want too much deep frying or searing, for example, during the event. No chefs are required for drop off canapés.
Chefs. Are priced at £35 (head) / £25 (sous) an hour, you should count on one chef per 20 to 30 people, with the first chef always being a head chef.
Travel. Usually costs around £40 each way in central London. For events outside of London we’ll give you a bespoke quote based on distance/travel time.
Hire equipment. If you require help with canapé serving platters or extra items such as glassware, bar items, tables or linens, please ask us for a bespoke quotation.
Bowls – Disposable vs Ceramic pots. As a default, disposable white pots and bamboo forks are included in the price of the menu. For ceramic bowls/steel cutlery, you need to allow approximately 50p per dish, plus an allowance for delivery, collection & washing.
Drinks. We’re happy to help in supplying your drinks (from cocktails to bottled beers, wine and soft drinks), but are also happy to serve any drinks you wish to provide yourselves. NO CORKAGE charged.
Waiting staff. We can also offer waiting staff through our staffing partner and can help with hire equipment such as glassware, platters and service tables.
Should you choose to book with us as deposit of 25% will be due to secure the date, with the full balance being due before the event. We can accept payment via online bank transfer, cheque or credit card (via an online PayPal eInvoice, subject to a 3% commission fee).
