Arancini (Sicilian stuffed rice balls) with mozzarella, parma ham & pesto
I’d only ever had the Carluccio’s version of these (still pretty good) before my friend Natalie’s wedding on the Amalfi coast this year. They served arancini as canapés (which are now on the GJ canapé menu!), but here we make them sort of scotch egg size to be served as a starter. The mighty Jambalaya
I first made jambalaya as a kid, around 12 to 13 years old, experimenting in the kitchen after a trip round the US, with New Orleans as a big, shiny highlight. It’s a good one pot Creole recipe, where you can add or take away from some of the ingredients depending on what is lurking in the fridge. Let the wedding season commence…
Afternoon teas, hog roasts, fine dining, hearty BBQs… they all feature in Ginger Jar wedding proposals for this coming summer. We love helping create a warm, relaxed atmosphere around the food for a wedding, be that by piling salads high alongside the hog spit, creating an old fashioned dessert table or designing seated four course dinners which get the table talking.
